5/26/2018

3:45 pm to 5:45 pm

Main Campus

This is a reoccuring event.

This course introduces bourgeoning programmers to the world of the “Internet of Things” also known as IoT. As computers and integrated technologies continue to develop, we find more and more tiny computers in everyday items like watches, smart homes and even smart refrigerators. This course introduces students to one of the hottest mini-computers today: the Raspberry Pi. In addition, students will learn how to set up the Raspberry Pi environment, get a Linux operating system running, and write and execute some basic Python code on the Raspberry Pi. Students will also learn how to use Python-based IDE (integrated development environments) for the Raspberry Pi and how to trace and debug Python code on the device.
