Cloud Computing and Security Series (Rm S-71)

11/9/2018

6:00 pm to 9:00 pm

Main Campus

This is a reoccuring event.

After an initial resistance to using the Cloud as a computing platform, the industry has largely embraced this paradigm for the many benefits it provides, including financial savings and faster time-to-market. Platforms like AWS/Amazon, Azure/Microsoft and Google Cloud have made the transition very straightforward.
However, the Cloud model introduces security challenges that need to be addressed. Some of these challenges are traditional IT security concerns but some are specific to a cloud context. Either way, many high profile hacker attacks (google, yahoo, Equifax) show that security must be a top goal.
This class explains how to build and use cloud in a secure manner. The last part of the class lays down guidelines for building and using cloud applications securely.
